Kansas City, MO
Today marks our last 24 hours in Kansas City. I can't believe that these 4 days passed by so quickly!
We spent today at the Ceramics Café. We all had our own projects. I decided to paint an Alhambra-inspired geometric pattern on my mug.
I had no idea how I was going to do this, so I just improvised.
The first thing I did was sketch out the entire pattern with a pen on the mug.
As I got to the other side of the mug, I noticed that there was no geometric centre, but I still survived. The next thing I did was paint the small shapes a dark blue (corn flower specifically). Instead of using a paint brush, I used a dot thing (I really don't know what it's called!). That way, I only drew over the lines 60% of the time instead of 90% of the time.
The last thing I did was paint in the large stars. With a small paint brush, I only painted in 1 square. Then, using the dot thing, I filled in the rest. With that, I finished another beautiful art project! Don't forget to add your signature!
I can't wait to see the glazed results! I miss the fam already!
