Product Review: Philosophy's Hope In A Jar Night
Rating: 1/5
A week before I left for school last semester, my Mum gave me some bath & body products that she didn't really use anymore, including Philosophy's Hope In A Jar Night. She told me that the facial moisturiser was not the right one for her skin & being that it was so expensive, she didn't want to throw it out. So, I gladly accepted it.
I tried using HIJN for a few weeks, but it didn't work out for me. I always take extremely good care of my skin, especially the skin on my face, so if it's been a week or two & a product isn't working out for me, I stop using it. A week of using this moisturiser every night dried out my skin. I have very sensitive skin above my eyebrows, so that part of my face took the most damage. Being that the moisturiser costs a fortune, I did not want to throw out the moisturiser, so I ended up giving it to one of my room mate's friends.
I also did some research on product reviews for HIJN. It turns out that this happened to a lot of people. Many consumers were told that HIJN was an excellent investment & at least a week later, their faces were as dry as the remainder biscuit after a voyage (Shakespeare references anyone?).
I looked around the Internet & the link to HIJN in the first paragraph of this review was the cheapest I could find. If you check out Philosophy's official site, the cream is a bit more pricey.
I also did not like the scent. I just remember that it wasn't my favourite.
To leave this post on a high note, I am not trying to bash Philosophy, they are a wonderful bath & body product company! The one thing I will remember about this product is the aesthetic of the jar. I have always loved how Philosophy designs their products. I love the colours of the jars & bottles as well as the definitions on them, they're fun to read! Perhaps someday when I can afford to, I'll buy many aesthetically pleasing Philosophy products to decorate my restroom with! The jar looked quite lovely next to my sink!
There were also a few excellent product reviews on HIJN, it just depends on the person & their skin type. Who knows, HIJN might turn out to be an excellent investment for your face.
