This quote sums up my opinion on jewellery. I am not going to buy that necklace with a succulent or deer antlers pendant just because it looks pretty. Instead, I'd probably buy a necklace with a cross or something from one of the foreign countries that I used to live in because I can personally relate to that fragment of art. I just love the idea of wearing a memory around my neck.
Some of my favourite necklaces are my Madrid & Cambridge bar necklaces* that I received as gifts from my Aunt Jenny & Aunt Courtney. Each necklace has the coordinates of the cities that I wish to return to when I finish school. My dream post-college is to spend at least five years in England, Spain, or Panama. Ever since my junior year of high school, I have decided to put in all of my work & effort into making that dream a reality. When the going gets tough, I sometimes find myself losing hope. But when I wear one of my bar necklaces, I regain my motivation & that dream is replenished. I have always worn one of my bar necklaces during all of my performances last semester. I've also worn my necklace to all of my interviews & my exams. Whenever I feel like I can't do the task I have at hand, I remember what all of this work is going into.
